ABOUT THIS ITEM
Product Details
A separate digging area — Offer the fine coir in a removable tray alongside deep, suitable primary bedding. It adds a different texture to explore without replacing the hamster’s nesting area.
Choose one or five packs — Each compressed 650g pack expands to approximately 9–10 litres. Choose a single pack or five-pack, prepare only what you need and store unused packs dry.
Hydrate, loosen, then dry — Follow the pack directions and loosen the coir fully. Spread it in a clean tray and allow it to dry thoroughly before introducing it to the hamster’s enclosure.
Introduce and observe — Start with a suitable amount in a stable digging tray and observe how your hamster uses it. Avoid airborne dust and remove the material if it causes irritation.
Keep main bedding dry — Provide deep appropriate bedding for burrowing and nesting outside the coir tray. Do not wet the main bedding or create a humid enclosure for the hamster.
Refresh the digging tray — Check the tray regularly and remove wet or soiled material promptly. Replace as required and keep food, drinking water and the nesting area free from contamination.

Product FAQ
Which pack sizes are available?
Choose 1 × 650g or 5 × 650g. Each pack produces approximately 9–10 litres after hydration and loosening; the five-pack makes approximately 45–50 litres in total. Dry prepared coir thoroughly before use in a hamster digging tray.
Can it replace all my hamster’s bedding?
No. Use it as a separate digging or enrichment area alongside deep, suitable primary bedding and appropriate nesting material.
Should I add it while it is damp?
Allow the prepared fine coir to dry thoroughly before use in a hamster digging tray. Keep the primary bedding and nesting area dry.
Is this the same as the reptile chips?
No. Coco Habitat is fine coco coir. The separate Coco Terrain reptile product contains larger, coarse coconut-husk chips.
How should I keep the tray clean?
Check it regularly, remove wet or soiled material promptly and replace the coir when necessary. It does not remove the need for normal enclosure hygiene.
What if my hamster does not use it?
A digging tray is an optional enrichment activity, and individual preferences vary. Observe your hamster, keep other suitable enrichment available and remove anything causing irritation.
