COIROLOGY · SCIENCE & GROWING SERVICES
Understand your substrate. Inform your next decision.
Analyse your substrate, compare suppliers or investigate root-zone concerns. Turn representative samples into practical findings for your crop and growing system.
COIROLOGY SUBSTRATELAB™
Characterise material properties, compare samples or investigate a substrate concern. Formulation development and growing-performance trials are scoped separately.

SUBSTRATELAB™ REPORT
Your report brings together sample identity, agreed test methods, findings and their relevance to your crop, container and irrigation.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Compare representative samples from products, suppliers or batches using agreed methods and acceptance criteria. The report records differences, limitations and any further investigation needed; material analysis alone does not establish crop performance.
COIROLOGY SUBSTRATELAB™
Select only the parameters relevant to your question. Before work starts, agree which checks Coirology will carry out directly, any external laboratory work, the methods and reporting arrangements.
Particle structure, moisture and water/air behaviour.
pH, salinity and selected nutrients or ions.
Hydration, format and material consistency.
Not every project requires every test. The investigation is selected around the question being asked.
Specialist analytical testing may be commissioned through appropriate external laboratories where required.
Why particle structure matters. Fine particles, fibre and chips influence pore structure. Water and air behaviour also depends on packing, container geometry and irrigation.
UNDERSTAND IT.
Agree the question, sampling instructions, methods, responsibilities, timing and costs before sending material.
Agree the investigation, comparison criteria and reporting scope.
Follow the agreed quantity, handling and labelling instructions; record the batch and sampling context.
Complete the agreed checks, identifying any external laboratory input and the methods used.
Receive a report with findings, limitations and practical next steps.
Continue with analysis alone, or commission a separate development, growing-trial or monitoring programme if the findings justify it.
