At Coirology, we want to make growing approachable for children, families and schools. A six-pack of 650g bricks gives you individual units for shared potting activities, with the remaining bricks kept compact and dry for the next project.
Prepare a brick · Plant together · Watch and learn
Choose a manageable number of pots and prepare one 650g brick following the pack instructions. An adult should handle water, tools and lifting. Watching it expand is a simple starting point for talking about water and growing media.
02
Choose compost or a mixing project
For suitable general planting, All Purpose Compost Bricks include fertiliser. Plain Coir Bricks suit an activity that includes choosing a growing mix and planning nutrition. They do not provide a complete plant feed on their own.
03
Give everyone a part
Share tasks such as labelling pots, scooping prepared material, planting and recording growth. Adapt each role to the child’s age and abilities, use suitable plants and tools, supervise handling and wash hands afterwards.
04
Plan the next growing session
Use the prepared material for the planned activity and store the other dry bricks for later. Follow the plants through watering and growth observations. School groups can prepare additional bricks as needed rather than expanding all six at once.
CHOOSE FOR YOUR APPLICATION
Products to consider: 6 × 650g packs
Choose fertilised compost for suitable everyday planting, or plain coir when you want to prepare your own growing mix. Both packs contain six separate 650g bricks—prepare one at a time and store the rest dry. The full dry pack weighs 3.9kg; hydrated material is heavier.
Prepare individual compost bricks for suitable family or school planting projects. Expand only the units needed for the group, with adult supervision and the remaining bricks stored dry.
Contains controlled-release NPK fertiliser and trace minerals. Follow pack directions and check suitability for the chosen plants.
Plain coir for exploring hydration and preparing a plant-appropriate growing mix together. Each brick expands to approximately 10L, so the pack can support several planned activities.
No added fertiliser. Plain coir needs an appropriate nutrient plan; do not treat it as a pre-fertilised compost.
